Meet Alexis: a Nutrition Major, Tennis Player, and Transfer Student

Meet Alexis

“A house is just a building. A home is a feeling.”

Alexis is a Nutrition and Dietetics major at Marywood. She transferred to Marywood Spring of 2014. She believes that transferring here was one of the best decisions she has ever made. It has been hard for her to feel at home a lot of the times in various places, but at Marywood, she truly feels at home. With freedom, peace, love, and pure happiness. She is constantly amazed at how caring her peers and the facility she has encountered are. Some of them have been a true inspiration to her, and makes her want to pursue her dreams even more. They make her strive to be the best she can be, as a student and as a general human being.

She plays tennis for the pacers at Marywood, she loves to cook and bake, has appreciation to travel to different countries to experience various cultures, and she has/is continuing to be involved in community services, in hopes to make the word a better place, by changing one person’s life at a time. In her heart, she concludes that even the smallest of things can make a big difference in someone’s life, and can impact their lives in the prospective endeavours. Impacting people in a positive, memorable, life altering way is what she ultimately aims for within in herself.

She hopes everyone can feel free, love, at home, peace, and happiness no matter where they are in life’s current and future adventures. After all, isn’t that where growth and the true meaning of a great life begins in oneself? She is home, and she is anticipates that you are too.
